Our story.

Rebekah Lloyd is a women’s health consultant, fractional healthcare executive, and founder of TIL. After experiencing burnout and chronic pain, a 10 year delayed endometriosis diagnosis, and resulting career and financial challenges, she realised she wasn’t alone and started This Independent Life (TIL).

TIL is a women’s health consultancy committed to advancing the future of women’s health through interest, investment and innovation. Rebekah is a sought after expert and advisor in the field of women’s health and healthcare as a result of her work, including advising UK Parliament, being the first and only women’s health Expert-in-Residence at Imperial College London, and hosting a first-of-its-kind international conference on the Future of Endometriosis and Women’s Health.

She has been involved in launching, advising, and collaborating with some of the world’s leading global health organisations and brands, start-ups, and research institutions, has been featured internationally including The Guardian, BBC and Nasdaq, and is host of the This Independent Life podcast.

Why.

If you’re a woman, despite making up over 50% of the population you are likely underserved, underrepresented, and undersupported when it comes to your health.

Why is this? Many reasons, but it’s not a coincidence that whilst only 43% of women are correctly diagnosed by the healthcare system, only 8% of FTSE 100 companies have women CEOs, and just 2% of global funding goes to women’s health founders (who are the ones that typically start women’s health ventures). The issues and barriers are deep-rooted and systemic throughout the industry and society.

Positive change for the future of women’s health is happening and TIL are here to help advance it through interest, investment and innovation.
